Volleyball sweeps Brenau on Senior Night

MILLIGAN, Tenn. (October 13, 2023) – The Milligan University volleyball team honored its seniors and swept Brenau in the Steve Lacy Fieldhouse on Friday evening.

The Buffs recognized Hannah Holmes, Greyson Stevens and Taylor Pavich prior to the match and rolled to a 3-0 win. The win moves Milligan to 17-6 on the season and 11-2 in Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) play. Brenau falls to 8-13, 6-7 AAC.

The opening set featured 18 ties, the last being 20-20. Milligan scored five of the next six points to earn a 25-21 set one win. Brenau led 18-17 in the second set but the Buffs reeled off six-straight points to take control and go ahead 2-0 with another 25-21 score.

The Buffs used a 9-1 run early in the third set to lead 10-3 and cruised to a 25-15 final margin to secure the match.

Shelby Miller led Milligan with a dozen kills and a .450 hitting percentage. Pavich and Ella Maiden each had seven kills. Avery Maiden added five kills.

Kolbie Greene had 23 assists. Riley Brinn added 12 digs.

With the win, Milligan secured a winning record in AAC play for the 15th-consecutive season under head coach Doneva Bays.

The Buffs host Montreat tomorrow at 11:00 a.m.
