Volleyball moves into second place after AAC win at Union
BARBOURVILLE, Ky. (October 5, 2023) – The Milligan University volleyball team defeated Union 3-0 in an Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) match in Kentucky on Thursday evening.
BARBOURVILLE, Ky. (October 5, 2023) – The Milligan University volleyball team defeated Union 3-0 in an Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) match in Kentucky on Thursday evening.
The Buffs picked up their third win over the Bulldogs this season and move to 14-6 on the season and 8-2 in AAC play. Milligan moves into a three-way tie for second place in the conference standings with Reinhardt and Truett McConnell. Union falls to 6-13, 6-5 AAC.
Milligan won the match with set scores of 25-13, 25-22 and 25-15. The Buffs had single digit hitting errors (nine) for the fifth time this season. Milligan hit .348 with 33 kills on the night.
Ella Maiden had 10 kills and three total blocks. Shelby Miller notched nine kills. Avery Maiden posted seven kills without an error. Miller and both Maidens each hit at least .500 or better for the match.
Kolbie Greene led Milligan with 28 assists and a dozen digs. Grace Sanderson had three service aces.
Milligan travels to Johnson (Tenn.) on Saturday.
