NEW ORLEANS, La. - On Monday afternoon, the United States Track & Field Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced the winners of their weekly Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week. Milligan University's Ellen-Mary Kearney was recognized for the award for the first time this season after her school-record performance and top NAIA time of the year in the 3000m.

Kearney had a stellar weekend at the VMI Invitational in Lexington, Va., sporting a lifetime best mark of 9:35.84. That mark won her the event out of 42 participants and it also made her the new Milligan indoor program record holder. Her time is the best NAIA time of the year to this point, and was in the top 25 times at all divisions this weekend, while trailing only NCAA Division I counterparts.
