Men’s and Women’s Tennis defeat Point
MILLIGAN, Tenn. (March 27, 2023) – The Milligan University men’s and women’s tennis teams both dispatched Point 6-1 in Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) matches at the Mathes Tennis Center on Monday afternoon.
MILLIGAN, Tenn. (March 27, 2023) – The Milligan University men's and women's tennis teams both dispatched Point 6-1 in Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) matches at the Mathes Tennis Center on Monday afternoon.
Milligan men's tennis moves to 8-10 overall and 4-3 in AAC play. The women's tennis team is now 7-8, 3-3 AAC.
In men's tennis doubles, the Buffs took both contested matches 7-6 with Milligan winning both tiebreakers. Nathan Smiley and Marcos Moreno won at top doubles and Derian Janeke and Ryan Thomas took the win at No. 2 doubles.
Kaitlin Barrett and Camryn Rossa took a 6-1 win at No. 1 doubles and Makenna Peterson and Macy Kennedy combined for a 6-1 win at No. 2 doubles.
Krishan Teneja won 6-1, 6-1 at No. 1 singles. Carter Rigsby captured a 6-2, 6-3 win at No. 2 singles. Thomas triumphed 6-2, 6-2 at No. 3 singles. Sean Brown took a 6-4, 6-2 win at fifth singles. The Skyhawks forfeited the final singles slot.
Sophie Dunman won at No. 2 singles 6-2, 6-3, Kylie Enarson was a 6-0, 6-0 winner at No. 3 singles and Tiana Shelton was victorious 6-1, 6-0 at No. 4 singles. Point forfeited the No. 5 and No. 6 singles spots as the Skyhawks had just four players.
The Buffs host Johnson (Tenn.) tomorrow at the Mathes Tennis Center at 3:30 p.m.
