MILLIGAN, Tenn. (Aug. 3, 2020) – The Milligan University women's tennis team, along with three individuals, earned postseason recognition from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association. The ITA named Milligan a 2020 All-Academic Team and Rachel Dove, Karson Light and Minda Martin 2020 Scholar-Athletes.
"I am really proud that both teams received the 2019-20 ITA All-Academic Team," Head Coach Ryan Reynolds said. "I am equally proud that we had several individuals make the Scholar-Athlete list. Our teams worked hard last year both on and off the court, and they all are deserving of the award."
In all, 46 women's tennis programs were awarded the All-Academic Team distinction, and 290 NAIA female student-athletes were named an ITA Scholar-Athlete.
To be named an ITA All-Academic Team, programs must have a team grade-point average of 3.2 or above on a 4.00 scale. Additionally, the All-Academic Team includes all student-athletes listed on the institutional eligibility form, and all varsity letter winners are factored into the cumulative team GPA for the current academic year. To be named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, each student-athlete must have a grade-point average of at least 3.5 on a 4.0 scale for the current academic year and must be listed on the institutional eligibility form.
