Milligan soccer program picks up three weekly awards
Both the Milligan women’s soccer team and the Milligan men’s soccer team finished their regular season schedule this past week, and picked up two Appalachian Athletic Conference weekly honors for the women and one for the men for the week ending Oct. 27.

For the women
Senior Bekah Cundiff picked up her first offensive player of the week award this season making it her third time winning the award in her career at Milligan. Cundiff scored five goals this week and had one assist. Four of the five goals came against Kentucky Christian where Milligan won 4-0. Her fifth goal came in a 2-0 win against Bryan on senior night. Cundiff currently leads the AAC in conference-only scoring with 17 goals.
Sophomore Isabella Cranford picked up her first defensive player of the week award in her career at Milligan. Cranford led Milligan's defense to two clean slates this week. As center back, Cranford organizes much of the Milligan defense and has been an integral part of limiting opposing scorers.
Garrido picks up his fifth award of the season
Senior Roberto Fernandez Garrido picked up his fifth offensive player of the week award of this season making it his sixth time winning this award in his two years at Milligan. Garrido scored seven goals this week with five coming from a 10-1 win over Kentucky Christian. Garrido scored both goals in the Buffs 6-2 loss against Bryan. Garrido leads the AAC with 25 goals and he is also No. 1 in the nation for goals and shots on goal with 52.
The men and women will begin AAC tournament play this upcoming week. The men finished seventh in the conference rankings and will play in the opening round at Bryan, who drew the No. 2 seed, on Saturday, Nov. 2, at 7 p.m. The women drew the No. 4 seed and will play on Tuesday, Nov. 5, at 5 p.m. at Anglin Field against No. 5 Bryan.
