No. 10 Milligan Women’s Golf Places Third at AAC Fall Preview
ACWORTH, Ga. — On Monday and Tuesday, the Milligan University women's golf team took part in the 2024 AAC Fall Preview in Acworth, Ga. at Governors Towne Club. As a squad, the Buffaloes managed to take home a third-place finish out of nine competing programs.
The opening round of play saw Milligan sitting in a tie for second with a 32-over par day. Catalina Easley (+6), Kate Castle (+7) and Mallory TeVrucht (+8) led the way in the first round of the three-round tournament.
A masterful second round for the Buffs would follow, as they posted a 14-over par round to jump to just one stroke back of the tourney lead. K. Castle had a +1 round, with Easley shooting +3 and Sarah Castle and TeVrucht carding five-over rounds.
In the event's final round, Milligan could not keep up the torrid pace, shooting right in the middle of their two previous rounds. They carded a 23-over round as a squad to drop down to third place and shoot a combined +69 for the event. S. Castle still produced a stunning third round in which she shot two-over par, and Easley carded another respectable +4.
Milligan's best individual finish came from freshman Catalina Easley, who placed sixth with a combined 13-over three-round score. K. Castle managed a tie for eighth, shooting +17, and S. Castle came in 11th at 18-over par.
With the fall season now concluded for the Milligan women, they look ahead after making a statement to the national field on their intentions come spring 2025.
