Kate Castle named AAC Golfer of the Week

WALESKA, Ga. (October 16, 2023) – Milligan University junior Kate Castle was name the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Women's Golfer of the Week after winning medalist honors at the SVU Knights Invitational last week.

Castle won the 51-player tournament at the Lexington Golf and Country Club by seven strokes. She fired a (-1) 71 in the opening round and an even-par 72 in Tuesday's final round to finish at 143 strokes.

Castle was joined on the all-tournament team by Sarah Castle (3rd, 152), Mallory TeVrucht (T-4th, 153), Liz Miller (6th, 158) and Gabby Hammond (T-9th, 160).

The No. 9 Buffs won the eight-team tournament by 43 strokes. Milligan's team scores of 300 and 308 were the two lowest rounds of the event.

Milligan heads to the AAC Fall Preview next week at the The Windermere Club in South Carolina.
