JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Sept. 17, 2019) – After finishing with a share of the lead in her first collegiate tournament two weeks ago, freshman Michaela Lindahl claimed her first win outright Tuesday at Johnson City Country Club, leading Milligan to a runner-up result at the Mars Hill University Fall Invitational.
Lindahl shot 74-74 on the way to a spot on the all-tournament team and her first medalist honors in only two collegiate tournaments. Nellie Berglund (80-77), Madison Blanton (79-80) and Alayna Perryman (83-79) also posted competitive scores.
Milligan held the lead after the first 18 holes but was overpassed by Tusculum University on day two. The field was heavy with NCAA Division II competition.
Up next, Milligan returns to Johnson City Country Club to host the East Tennessee Collegiate Monday-Tuesday, Sept. 30 – Oct. 1. After that, the Buffs have only two events left on the fall calendar, including the Appalachian Athletic Conference Fall Championship Monday-Tuesday, Oct. 14-15.
