Greer Unveils 2024-25 Milligan Women's Basketball Schedule
MILLIGAN, Tenn. – The Milligan University women's basketball team, with Kylie Greer leading the charge, has announced their 2024-25 schedule.

The season opener for the Buffaloes will take place from the comforts of Steve Lacy Fieldhouse on Oct. 29 at 6 p.m. against Alice Lloyd (Ky.).
A pair of bouts in McKenzie, Tenn. come next for the Lady Buffs, as they will face Bethel (Tenn.) on Nov. 1 at 2 p.m. and Campbellsville (Ky.) on Nov. 2 at 3 p.m. The two tilts are to be played as part of the Chamber of Commerce Classic, hosted by Bethel University.
The University of Rio Grande will host Milligan on Nov. 9 at 2:30 p.m. in Rio Grande, Ohio as the final tune-up for the Buffaloes before Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) competition.
"We have been intentional to add really strong competition in our non-conference play," said Greer. "Last year, we earned a National Tournament bid because of our strength of schedule, and we have the same intention this year. Alice Lloyd, Bethel, Campbellsville, Rio Grande, Georgetown, and University of the Cumberlands are programs that we have seen in the NAIA Top 25 on many occasions."
Pikeville, Ky. is the host site of the Buffs' AAC opener, as the University of Pikeville will match up with Milligan on Nov. 13 at 5:30 p.m. That will be a battle between the No. 1 (Pikeville) and No. 2 (Milligan) squads in the AAC Preseason Poll. Milligan swept the season series last year. Following the conference opener, the Buffaloes will take on Truett McConnell on Nov. 16 at 2 p.m. and Columbia on Nov. 20 at 5:30 p.m. Each of those bouts will be held inside Steve Lacy Fieldhouse. Finishing off the month of November, Milligan goes up against Reinhardt in Waleska, Ga. on Nov. 23 at 2 p.m. and then battles Kentucky Christian in Greyson, Ky. on Nov. 26 at 5:30 p.m.
In the month of December, Union Commonwealth and Bryan both travel to East Tennessee for games on Dec. 4 at 5:30 p.m. and Dec. 7 at 2 p.m., respectively. Then, it is a road tilt at St. Andrews in Laurinburg, N.C. that closes out conference play for 2024 on Dec. 16 at 5:30 p.m.
Tough non-conference tests sit on the near horizon for the Buffs, as they will play road games at Georgetown (Ky.) on Dec. 19 at 1 p.m. and Cumberlands (Ky.) on Dec. 31 at 3 p.m. to close out the calendar year.
January kicks off with a home game against Johnson on Jan. 4 at 2 p.m., and that is followed by a road tilt at the always tough Tennessee Wesleyan Bulldogs on Jan. 7 at 5:30 p.m. in Athens. Then, rotating home and away games against Kentucky Christian and Bluefield come next on Jan. 9 at 5:30 p.m. and Jan. 11 at 2 p.m., respectively. Milligan will host Pikeville on Jan. 15 at 5:30 p.m., prior to heading to South Carolina for a tilt against CIU in Columbia on Jan. 18 at 2 p.m. A road matchup with Union Commonwealth on Jan. 25 at 2 p.m., followed by a bout inside Steve Lacy Fieldhouse against Montreat on Jan. 29 at 5:30 p.m., will conclude the month.
With the season approaching its end, CIU will travel to Milligan for a Feb. 1 battle at 2 p.m. to start the final month of the slate. Then, Bryan will host the Buffaloes on Feb. 5 at 5:30 p.m. in Dayton, Tenn. Bluefield will travel to the Buffs to play on Feb. 12 at 5:30 p.m., prior to another Milligan road trip to Cleveland, Ga. against Truett McConnell on Feb. 15 at 2 p.m. The final two matchups of the regular season come at home against Tennessee Wesleyan on Feb. 19 at 5:30 p.m. and on the road at Brenau in Gainesville, Ga. on Feb. 22 at 2 p.m.
The Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Women's Basketball Tournament will begin on Feb. 26 and conclude on Mar. 1. The tourney will be played at the MeadowView Marriott in Kingsport, Tenn. Play-in games will be played for the No. 7-No. 10 seeds on Feb. 26 to decide the final eight squads. Then, Quarterfinals will be played on Feb. 27, Semifinals on Feb. 28 and the tournament final on Mar. 1.
