Women's Basketball falls in NAIA Tournament first round
NEW ORLEANS, La. - The Milligan University women's basketball saw its season come to an end on Friday as it fell to No. 3 seed Georgetown College (Ky.) in the first round of the 2024 NAIA Women's Basketball National Championship, 87-61.

NEW ORLEANS, La. - The Milligan University women's basketball saw its season come to an end on Friday as it fell to No. 3 seed Georgetown College (Ky.) in the first round of the 2024 NAIA Women's Basketball National Championship, 87-61.
The Buffaloes got off to a slow start, scoring only 10 points in each of the first and second quarters to find themselves down 42-20 at the half. Milligan struggled to make up any ground on Georgetown, which went on to take the game by the final of 87-61.
The Tigers connected on 54.4 percent (37-of-68 shots) from the field and made 6-of-15 (40 percent) from behind the arc. Conversely, Milligan shot 36.7 percent (22-of-60 shots) from the floor and 19 percent (4-of-21) from 3-point range.
Georgetown also finished with a 42-27 rebounding edge.
Jaycie Jenkins led Milligan with 20 points, while Semaj Clark added 12 points and Lauren Longmire 11. Lina Lyon came off the bench and netted 10 points on 5-of-7 shooting.
Milligan concludes the season with a 23-8 record.
