Women’s Basketball dispatches KCU 78-52
MILLIGAN, Tenn. (November 29, 2023) – The Milligan University women’s basketball team defeated Kentucky Christian 78-52 to notch the Buffs’ seventh-straight win at the Steve Lacy Fieldhouse on Wednesday evening.

Milligan moves to 8-1 on the season and remains unbeaten in Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) play at 6-0. KCU falls to 0-6, 0-5 AAC.
The Knights made their first six shots, including three three-pointers, to open up a 15-6 lead through the first three minutes of play. The Buffs closed the quarter on a 12-3 run to take a 22-21 lead at the end of the first quarter.
Milligan held KCU scoreless for over 15 minutes of game time, spanning the final 1:34 of the first quarter, the entire second quarter and the first 3:39 of the third quarter. In that time, the Buffs scored 32-straight points, including a 22-0 second quarter.
Milligan led 67-36 going into the fourth quarter the cruised to their seventh-straight double-digit victory.
Halie Padgett had 17 points and five rebounds to pace the Buffs' offense. Lauren Longmire added 16 points, six rebounds and three assists.
Eleven different players made their way onto the score sheet as Milligan notched 21 assists on 31 made baskets. Semaj Clark, Emma Harig and Lina Lyon had eight points apiece.
Milligan won the rebounding battle 53-31 and outscored KCU 54-16 in the paint.
The Buffs to action next Wednesday at home against CIU.
