Women’s Basketball rolls to fifth-straight double-digit win

The victory marked Milligan's fifth-straight double-digit win as the Buffs rose to 6-1 on the season and 4-0 in Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) play. Brenau falls to 1-3, 0-3 AAC.
Milligan scored over 20 points in all four quarters and held the Tigers under 15 points in each period.
Milligan used an early 11-0 run to establish a double-digit lead (18-3) through the first six minutes of play and would maintain a double-figures lead the rest of the game. The Buffs led 22-12 at the end of the first quarter and opened the second period with a 16-0 run to lead 38-12 four minutes into the quarter and Milligan led by 27 (51-24) at the half.
Milligan outscored Brenau 29-7 in the third quarter and broke the century mark for the second time this season on its way to a 105-45 victory.
All 15 players who appeared in game scored for the Buffs. Milligan shot 54.3 percent from the field and drained 10 three-pointers at 43.5 percent. The Buffs won the rebounding battle 56-32 and the turnover margin 13-9.
Jaycie Jenkins led the way for the Buffs with 18 points, 15 of which came in the first half, and six rebounds. Semaj Clark paced Milligan's bench with 13 points and McKenna Myers had 11. Halie Padgett was honored for scoring her 1,000th career point last week and chipped in with 10 points.
Lina Lyon had nine points and Jenna Hare scored eight off the Buff bench. Lauren Longmire led Milligan with five assists and Madi Runnels had three of Milligan's seven blocks.
Milligan outscored the Tigers 48-22 in the paint and had a 62-10 in bench points.
The Buffs host Union on Tuesday evening at 5:30 p.m.
