Men's, Women's Track & Field start outdoor season strong
COLUMBIA, S.C. (March 16, 2024) - The Milligan University men's and women's track & field teams got their outdoor season off to a strong start at the John Hunter Classic, hosted by Columbia International University in Columbia, S.C.
COLUMBIA, S.C. (March 16, 2024) - The Milligan University men's and women's track & field teams got their outdoor season off to a strong start at the John Hunter Classic, hosted by Columbia International University in Columbia, S.C.
The Milligan men finished second in the team competition out of 10 teams. The Buffaloes tallied 148 points and placed behind NCAA Division II Tusculum University (Tenn.), who won with 222 points.
On the women's side, Milligan amassed 107 points to land third out of 11 teams. Columbia International (210 points) and Tusculum (116) claimed the top two spots.
Individually, Bryn Woodall turned in the men's top performances as he won both the 1500 and 5000. In the 1500, he posted a time of 3:49.31 in grabbing an NAIA 'A' Standard. His time ranks him first in the NAIA in the event and is the third-fastest 1500 in Milligan history.
Woodall also won the 5000 by posting an NAIA 'A' Standard time of 14:17.62. His time leads the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) and is the second-fastest time in the NAIA this season. It is also the second-fastest 5000 in program history.
Caitlyn Dominy led the Milligan women as she, like Woodall, won the 1500 and 5000 and secured NAIA 'A' Standards in both events. In the 1500, she crossed the line in 4:38.05, which currently leads the AAC and is second in the NAIA. Dominy ran a personal best in the 5000, posting a time of 17:21.84 which puts her atop the leaderboard in the AAC and second in the NAIA.

- Men's 1500 - Aaron Jones, third, 3:58.83
- Men's Long Jump - Jeremy Evans, second, 6.46 meters
- Men's 4x100 Relay - Hunter Crook, Romario Taylor, Ja'Quan Williams, Fletcher - second, 42.16 seconds
- Men's 100 - Fletcher, third, 10.90 seconds
- Women's 400 - Megan Christian, first, 59.80 seconds
- Men's 3000 Steeplechase - Alex Brittain, first, 10:08.23; Keaton Hincher, second, 10:15.23; Sam Sosebee, third, 10:33.85
