Tennis season ends in AAC Tournament quarterfinals
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (April 13, 2023) – The Milligan University men’s and women’s tennis teams had their season come to an end in the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Tournament quarterfinals at the Champions Club Tennis Complex on Thursday. Milligan’s men were edged 4-3 by Montreat in the opening round of matches while the women fell to No. 21 SCAD Atlanta 4-0 on Thursday evening after a lengthy rain delay.

(April 13, 2023) – The Milligan University men's and women's tennis teams had their season come to an end in the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Tournament quarterfinals at the Champions Club Tennis Complex on Thursday. Milligan's men were edged 4-3 by Montreat in the opening round of matches while the women fell to No. 21 SCAD Atlanta 4-0 on Thursday evening after a lengthy rain delay.
Milligan's men end their season with a 10-12 overall record, marking the second-straight season the Buffs have notched consecutive double-digit seasons since 1961-62. The women's tennis team finishes the year with a 9-11 record.
After dropping the doubles point, Milligan's men picked up wins at fourth, fifth and sixth singles. Ryan Thomas won 6-2, 6-2 at No. 4 singles. Marcos Moreno took a 6-1, 6-2 victory at No. 5 singles and Nathan Miley earned a 6-0, 6-3 win at No. 6 singles. Krishan Taneja battled but fell 7-5, 6-3 at No. 1 singles and Carter Rigsby was defeated 6-4, 6-4 at second singles.
On the women's side, the Bees picked up the doubles point with victories at second and third doubles. Kaitlin Barrett and Camryn Rossa were tied 5-5 at No. 1 doubles when the match was abandoned due to SCAD Atlanta picking up the point.
The Bees won at first, third, fourth and fifth singles to take the 4-0 win. Kylie Enarson nearly extended her match to a third set at No. 4 singles but fell 6-4, 7-6. Rossa won the first set of her match at No. 2 singles 6-4 before the Bees clinched the match.
Taneja and Rossa were honored as All-AAC Second Team selections at a ceremony between the Buffs' matches.
