Men’s Tennis downs SCAD Atlanta for AAC win, Women’s Tennis battles but falls to No. 22 Bees
MILLIGAN, Tenn. (March 22, 2022) – The Milligan University men’s team scored a 6-1 victory over SCAD Atlanta as the Buffs’ women’s team battled but fell to the No. 22 Bees on Tuesday afternoon at the Mathes Tennis Center.

Milligan men's tennis picks up its second Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) win of the season and moves to 10-5 on the year. Milligan's women fall to 10-6.
The Milligan opened the match by taking two out of three doubles matchups to secure the day's first point. Marcos Moreno and Carter Rigsby snagged a 6-4 win at No. 2 doubles while Ryan Thomas and Justin Rigsby secured a 6-3 win at third doubles. The top doubles flight of Nathan Smiley and Derian Janeke went down to the wire, ultimately falling 6-7 in a tiebreaker.
In singles action, Carter Rigsby grabbed a 6-4, 6-4 win at No. 2 singles. Moreno took third singles 6-3, 6-2. Janeke triumphed in a super tiebreaker 6-4, 6-7, 12-10 at No. 4 singles. Justin Rigsby took a 6-2, 6-0 and Thomas won 6-1, 6-0 at fifth and sixth singles.
In the women's match, Sophie Dunman triumphed 6-1, 6-3 in the Buffs' lone singles win of the day at No. 4. Dunman and Kylie Enarson teamed for a 6-3 victory at second doubles as well.
Milligan found itself on the losing end of four matches that went into third sets or super tiebreakers. Macy Kennedy played a marathon match at No. 2 singles and ultimately fell 7-6, 3-6, 3-6. Enarson also went the distance at third singles 5-7, 6-4, 1-6. Karson Light battled back to win the second set at No. 5 singles but fell in a super tiebreaker 2-6, 6-4, 4-10. Hannah Nelson did the same at sixth singles, 4-6, 6-3, 4-10.
Milligan tennis heads to Montreat next Friday.
