Jett Carter named AAC Offensive Player of the Week

WALESKA, Ga. (November 6, 2023) – Milligan University senior forward Jett Carter was honored as the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week after he scored the game-winning goal in double overtime in the Buffs' AAC Tournament quarterfinal match against Reinhardt last week.

The Buffs and Eagles seemed destined for a penalty kick shootout to determine the outcome of their postseason matchup as neither team found the back of the net through 90 minutes of regulation, 10 minutes of overtime and five minutes of double overtime.

In the 106th minute, Inaki Moreno flicked a ball into the penalty area where Carter ran onto the ball and sent a leaping shot past the Reinhardt keeper for the game-deciding goal in the Buffs' 1-0 victory.

Carter ranked second on the team with four shots and two on goal as a substitute in the quarterfinal matchup.

In a four-year career with the Buffs Carter has 27 career goals and six assists. He led the Buffs with 14 goals and earned all-conference honors in the 2021 campaign. This fall he has five goals and a career-high four assists.

Milligan hosts fourth-seeded St. Andrews in the AAC semifinals tomorrow at 5:00 p.m.
