Rheinecker leads Buffs at Music City
Dane Rheinecker carded rounds of 78 and 75 to finish 22nd overall and lead the Milligan University men’s golf team at the Music City Invitational, hosted by Cumberland University Monday and Tuesday at Twelve Stones Golf Club.
GOODLETTSVILLE, Tenn. (Oct. 6, 2020) – Dane Rheinecker carded rounds of 78 and 75 to finish 22nd overall and lead the Milligan University men's golf team at the Music City Invitational, hosted by Cumberland University Monday and Tuesday at Twelve Stones Golf Club.
Milligan finished 11th in a deep field that featured eight programs inside or near the NAIA top 25. This included the Nos. 3, 14, 17, 19 and 25-ranked teams in the nation.
Rheinecker's 22nd-place finish was tops for the Buffs, followed by Ty Beasley who finished 26th and Jonathan Liggett who finished 39th. Samuel Prater rounded out the Buffs' scoring in 52nd.
Milligan scored 306 on day one before turning in 321 on day two. Point University (297-291) won the event while Cumberland's Reece Gaddes (71-70) earned medalist honors after defeating Jake Miller from IU-East in a playoff hole.
Up next, Milligan competes at the Appalachian Athletic Conference Fall Championship Monday-Tuesday, Oct. 12-13. The event is set to take place at Barnsley Resort in Adairsville, Georgia.
