Men’s Basketball takes on NCAA Division I MTSU

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (November 18, 2023) – The Milligan University men's basketball team traveled to NCAA Division I Middle Tennessee State University for the Buffs' lone DI matchup of the season on Saturday evening. The Buffs trailed by five points at halftime as the Blue Raiders won 88-62.

Milligan stayed within single-digit for the majority of the first half. The Buffs used a 6-2 run that included a three-pointer by Luke Lentz to pull within six (21-15) with just over nine minutes to play in the half. Follie Bogan scored four of the Buffs' final six points of the half as MTSU led 30-25 at the halftime break.

Bogan had a dunk and Pip Korent drained a three in a 6-0 Milligan run that narrowed the score to 42-38 early in the second half. A MTSU three-point barrage kickstarted an 18-4 Blue Raider run as the hosts separated for good and took the exhibition victory.

Bogan led the Buffs with 16 points, eight rebounds, four steals and three assists. McCaskill Rivers had 11 points. Lentz, Korent and Jaz Johnson chipped in with eight points each.

Milligan's bench outscored MTSU's 25-24 and had a 15-11 edge in points off turnovers.

Milligan hosts Union on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.
