Milligan drops first game of 2020
The Milligan College men’s basketball team fell on the road to Appalachian Athletic Conference member Kentucky Christian University 82-63 Wednesday night.
GRAYSON, Ky. (Jan. 15, 2020) – The Milligan College men's basketball team fell on the road to Appalachian Athletic Conference member Kentucky Christian University 82-63 Wednesday night.
Game flow
KCU jumped out to a quick lead, going on a 10-3 run. Milligan worked their way back to be down by three with a three-pointer by Bo Pless to make the score 18-15 with 12 minutes left in the game. However, Kentucky Christian would then go on a 10-0 run and remain in the lead for the rest of the first half.
In the second half Mike Featherston scored the first points in the half with a field goal and a free throw shot to put the Buffs down 41-37. The Knights would then go on a 12-4 run and increase their lead to 53-41. Kentucky Christian would remain in the lead by double-digit figures for the rest of the game, taking advantage of missed shots by Milligan.
By the numbers
Milligan shot 36.2% in field goals on the night and was 25.9% behind the three-point arch. KCU also outrebounded the Buffs 45 to 29. Three Buffs made it to double-digit scoring with Jacob Cawood leading the way with 15 points, Pless following with 14 and Featherston with 12. Desean Green led the team in rebounds with 11 and added seven points.
