Buffs defeat Bulldogs, 77-65
Four members of the Milligan College men’s basketball team reached double figure scoring and the Buffaloes defeated Tennessee Wesleyan 77-65 Saturday evening.
ATHENS, Tenn. (Nov. 16, 2019) – Four members of the Milligan College men's basketball team reached double figure scoring and the Buffaloes defeated Tennessee Wesleyan 77-65 Saturday evening.
First half
Bo Pless started the game off with back to back three-point shots and the Buffs went on a 10-0 run to jump ahead 13-3 in the first half. The Buffs remained dominant for the rest of the first half, never losing the lead. Milligan was 50% in field goals with Jacob Cawood leading the team at the half with 13. Mike Featherston had five assists and Bo Pless had four rebounds.
Second half
Milligan continued to remain dominant in the second half and increased their lead at one point by 20 points to make the score 62-42. The Bulldogs attempted to rally back, making the score 70-65 with less than two minutes left in the game but the Buffs went on a 7-0 run the finish the game.
By the numbers
Cawood finished the game with a game high of 21 points. He was 9 for 11 in field goal attempts and was 3 for 3 in three-point attempts. Pless scored the second most points in the game with 15, and Tyler Nichols finished behind him with 14. Desean Green had 11 points with seven rebounds and Featherston had seven points and eight rebounds. Both Green and Featherston had five assists apiece.

Milligan will return home Wednesday, Nov. 20, against Appalachian Athletic Conference foe Montreat College. Game time is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. following the women's game at 5:30 p.m.
