Bio

Chris Woods began as Milligan University’s swing coach in the 2022-23 season.

Hailing from a military family, Woods grew up in 10 different states and two countries and was introduced to golf as a caddie for his uncle at age 14. He went on to spend time on the mini tour circuits in Florida and Arizona, competing against Bubba Watson and Boo Weekley.

After Woods graduated from Milligan in 2013 and entered the PGA Professional Program. Since his election into the PGA, he has remained active in junior golf in the Tri-Cities through First Tee and PGA Jr. League teams. He coached three state championship Jr League teams and collected a slew of playing and coaching accolades in the past decade.

Woods is a Callaway Master Club Fitter, a two-time Tri-Cities Chapter Assistant of the Year, a two-time Tri-Cities Chapter Champion, a two-time Tri-Cities Chapter Player of the Year and served as a captain at the 2017 Tennessee Section Assistants' Cup Matches and at the 2022 Tennessee Section Challenge Cup Matches. Woods is the current Tri-Cities Chapter President and finished as the Chapter runner-up in 2022.

Woods’ family includes his wife Ashlee, newborn son (2022) Blair and two stepchildren, 12 year-old twins LB and Daisy. They reside in Kingsport and attend Harvest Community Church.
