Ana Morton enters her second season as a women’s basketball assistant coach at Milligan.

In her first season with the Buffs (2021-22), Milligan posted a 25-8 record and runner-up finishes in the AAC regular season standings and AAC Tournament in 2021-22. Milligan posted its best conference winning percentage in 22 years in the AAC (.917) with a 22-2 league record. Jaycie Jenkins was the nation’s fifth-leading scorer at 21.7 points per game and reeled in NAIA All-America, WBCA All-America and CoSIDA Academic All-America honors

Morton served as the Director of Basketball Operations at Winthrop (NCAA DI) for the 2022-23 season.

Before her first stint at Milligan, Morton spent eight years as a physical education teacher and basketball, volleyball and track coach at the prep and AAU levels.

She led Tyner Middle Academy to a district title in 2013 and spent the next five seasons as the head coach of Orchard Knob Middle. Morton took over a struggling Orchard Knob program and led it to a regular season runner-up showing in her first season.

In the AAU and circuit, Morton has coached for Reign FBC, TN Xtreme, TN Grizzliez and TN Swarm. 

Several of Morton’s former players went on to compete collegiately at the NCAA Division I, II, III, NAIA and junior college levels.

A standout basketball player at Page High School, Morton graduated from the University Tennessee at Chattanooga in 2012 with a bachelor’s degree in Health and Physical Education K-12 and a Master’s of Education Leadership from Carson-Newman in 2018.
