2004 HALL OF FAME INDUCTEE | DAN CLIFTON
Dan Clifton graduated from Milligan in 1971. He is the fastest sprinter in Milligan's history, surpassing the previous record of Charles D'Agata in 1938. With his 9.6-second 100-yard dash and 20.6 second 220-yard dash, Dan never lost a race on the Milligan track, and he never lost in those events in the college's conference (Volunteer State Athletic Conference at that time.) In 1971, he was included in the national publication, Outstanding College Athletes of America.
Since his graduation, Dan has thrived in the business world. After working for K-Mart and Southwestern General Insurance, Dan started a career in finance in 1978. He has worked for CitiFinancial now for more than 25 years.
He and his wife, Stacey, were married in 1989, and Dan became a stepfather to Stacey’s son, Trey. In 1996, Dan and Stacey bought a home in Concord and completed their family with a Blue Tick Hound named “Blue” and a Persian mix cat named Macy.
Dan enjoys traveling and exercising as well as relaxing at home while watching track meets, ballgames, and occasionally, racing. Dan and Stacey are members of Northwest Baptist Church in Concord and are on the Baptismal Committee and Teller Committee.
