2021 HALL OF FAME INDUCTEE | AUSTIN ELLIS
Austin Ellis graduated from Milligan in 2012 with a bachelor's degree in communications and public relations.
As a member of the Milligan cross country and track teams, Austin earned five NAIA All-America certificates over a distinguished career. The only three-time cross country All-American in Milligan men's cross country history, Austin was a four-time Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) cross country champion and runner of the year. His ninth-place finish at the 2011 NAIA Cross Country National Championship was the highest in team history and he graduated with Milligan's all-time 8k record of 24:18, a record that stood for nearly 10 years. On the track, he was five-time national qualifier and earned All-American status in the 10k in 2010 and the marathon in 2012. He still owns Milligan's marathon record (2:33:08).
Austin has worked in Charlottesville, Va. As a certified residential real estate appraiser for The Ellis Group, Ltd., specializing in residential properties and property management. He coached cross country at the middle school and high school levels at various schools from 2012-2020, mentoring multiple individual state champions.
After graduation, Austin began competing in triathlons. He has enjoyed the change of pace that swimming and biking have given him after focusing on running through high school and college. He attends All Points Christian Church, where he serves as the sound system and screen projection tech.
